Built as a gentleman's private residence, the Point of View villa has been completely redeveloped, decorated, furnished and equipped as a luxury retreat for discerning visitors to Cape Town.

Best described as a fusion of Italian villa decor and African chic, the design of the generous interior spaces juxtaposes the striking colours and geometric shapes of Zulu bead work bowls and other historic traditional African artifacts against opulent marble surfaces, large expanses of glass and formal wood paneling.

Avoiding the decor cliche of a marine theme, the rooms are instead brightened by the fabrics, colours and textures of African craft elevated to charming and enduring works of art.

Also on this level, you'll find a secluded inner courtyard and splash pool, and a smaller, more intimate, discussion room.

Retreat up the wood-paneled staircase to your choice of bedroom suite.

There are four luxury suites, two of which are sea-facing.

One of the other two non-sea facing luxury suites has its own large private balcony.

Even though this balcony offers sea-views, it is comfortably secluded.

The larger of the two sea-facing suites has a built-in jacuzzi offering a privileged and relaxing vantage point from which to take in the sweeping vistas across Table Bay.

This suite also features a small coffee/tea-making nook, a wardrobe room and a smaller, inter-leading suite, ideal for a young child accompanying the parents.

However, this second suite could also serve as an additional fifth en-suite bedroom, as it is fully sound proof.

Each suite has its own plasma screen, DStv TV, sound system and air-conditioning.

Also on this level, there is an 18-seat cinema with a large screen and DVD projector, plus other equipment to facilitate on-screen presentations.
