The promenade stretches along the beachfront, and is great for rollerblading, jogging or a sunset stroll.
Mouille Point’s landmark is its lighthouse, which was the first lighthouse in South Africa, built in 1924.
It is still operational and can be visited during the week from 9am to 3pm.
You will need to head to the Waterfront or Sea Point for most shops although there is a 24 petrol station with convenience store, a pharmacy and liquor store on Beach Road.
There is also a great deli called Newport Deli.
There are a number of fine restaurants located on Beach Road, all with great views over the sea and Robben Island.
If you’re looking for night life head to nearby Green Point or De Waterkant.
Newport Market and Deli is a light, airy deli, great for lunches and light snacks.
It offers coffees, smoothies, excellent sandwiches, salads and some hot dishes as well as yummy cakes.

Mouille Point Beaches There are no beaches in Mouille Point.
Your closest bit of sand is just along the road in Sea Point, or head to nearby Clifton.
For the whole family there is a mini golf located on the promenade.

Just next to this is there is a kiddies Blue Train, which chugs along tracks close to the beach.

Mouille Point Sports For those wishing to play some golf, try the Metropolitan Golf Course.
Although not one of the most attractive golf courses in Cape Town, it has a great location in Moullie Point, close to the city centre and Atlantic seaboard and has great views of Table Mountain.
It is a par 72 course (2 x 9 holes) with fairly even terrain and well placed bunkers and water hazards.
The club house has a nice atmosphere and visitors are welcome.
Costs for visitors are R250 for 18 holes, R150 for 9 holes and R135 to hire clubs.
The course is open all year round.
Tuesday afternoon is ladies only, Thursday afternoon competitions and Saturdays members only.
Sundays are often crowded so its best to book in advance.
There is also a driving range.
